Who we are

This Privacy Policy applies to the Taper iOS app (“Taper”, “the app”). The data controller is IAMJARL.

Data stored on your device

Taper is local‑first. The app stores your information on your iPhone (and does not require an account).

  • Usage logs (e.g., “Used a pouch”, “Resisted craving”, with timestamps)
  • Settings (baseline pouches/day, reduction plan parameters, optional triggers, optional price and currency)
  • Preferences (theme, notification toggles and times)

What we do not do

  • No accounts or login
  • No ad tracking
  • No selling personal data

Notifications

If you enable notifications, Taper uses local notifications on your device (subject to your iOS permissions) for features like daily check‑ins and reminders.

Third‑party services

If enabled in the build, Taper may use Sentry for crash/error reporting to help us improve app stability. If used, Sentry may receive error events and basic device/app context necessary to diagnose issues (for example: app version, device model, OS version, and a crash stack trace). We do not use Sentry for advertising.

Data retention

Your data stays on your device unless you delete the app or use “Start Over” inside the app to delete local data and return to onboarding.
